The Weather Outside Is Frightful . . .

With most of the UK  in snow, it reached me today, we need to bring out our winter wardrobes at last.

Mine consists of a lovely purple military jacket with tulip shaped skirt.

And my primark hat from a couple of years ago, a knitted purple beret style hat that fits nicely of the ears and goes great with my red hair (not that it stays red in snow!)

What warm clothes will you be enjoying this very late winter?

Mr Selfridge

The great new drama, itv 9:00 Sundays (or an hour later on itv+1 or on iplayer).
Set in the early 1900s it shows the dramatised opening of the department store Selfridges. This sounds a little lame at first but watch the programme, it is great! It really makes you wish you were around at the time, with new innovations for the fabulous art of shopping.
Although the clothes are now very outdated and you would look a little weird but the fabulous extravagance and the class in the outfits is adored. I sometimes wish I could have been born in this era and this programme makes me wish all the more.

College has started back and although we've only been there two days we've already started a good amount of work. Firstly we had to finish off our proposal for Final Major Project. For FMP we have to make our own theme and write a good proposal to interest our tutors. If they agree we can go ahead. I have based mine on the font Standing Room Only.

With my proposal finished I'm excited to start research (mostly because I get to watch Bugsy Malone and Chicago).
In our practical lessons we have started looking at more techniques. Today we looked at bias binding and the multiple ways it can be introduced - so much more than I thought! and we had a go at piping samples, when straight lines this is nice and easy, on a steep curve it is a very different story =/ this has also made me excited to finally get started on FMP!

Bring on these last 2 terms!!

SS13 - primark

Look just released the first look at the spring summer stock of Primark. Anyone with any sense should like Primark as they can have some great buys, cheap prices and it doesn't all fall apart as everyone thinks. As all highstreet stores should, they've looked to the trends and some of these items have got it just right.
